Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has formally withdrawn his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in a move that has sent shockwaves through the state’s political landscape and triggered intense speculation about his next political destination.
In a letter dated December 29, 2025, and addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman of Ampang West Ward in Mangu Local Government Area, the governor announced his resignation from the party with immediate effect, citing the need for focused leadership, clear direction and improved service delivery for the people of Plateau State.
The resignation letter, which was acknowledged by the ward leadership on December 30, expressed Mutfwang’s gratitude to the PDP for providing him the platform to participate in Nigeria’s democratic process and to serve in various capacities over the years.
