Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have foiled an armed robbery attempt in Karu Site, arresting one suspect and recovering a firearm alongside other exhibits.
The incident occurred on December 27 at about 3:43 a.m. after the police received a distress call on the command’s emergency line reporting an ongoing robbery at a residential area in Karu Site.
A response team from the Karu Division, led by the divisional police officer, was immediately deployed to the location.
On sighting the operatives, the suspects reportedly opened fire, prompting the police to respond.
Spokesperson for the command, SP Josephine Adeh, said in a statement on Monday that the officers acted “professionally” and subdued the attackers, leading to the arrest of one of the suspects.
