Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has issued a strong demand for a public apology and immediate retraction from the legal team of Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry, following claims that branded her a blackmailer. The demand has further inflamed an already heated dispute that has spilled from private disagreements into Nigeria’s legal, religious, and entertainment spaces, drawing massive attention across social media.
Ogala’s reaction came after a press statement credited to Pastor Okafor’s lawyer described her allegations as a “gold-digging narrative” allegedly aimed at blackmailing the cleric. In a video posted on December 26 and widely circulated online, the actress openly challenged the lawyer to take legal action against her, insisting that the accusation was defamatory and meant to damage her reputation while shielding the pastor.
In the video, Ogala accused Pastor Okafor of hypocrisy, claiming he had privately admitted to sharing her nude images while his legal team publicly portrayed her as an extortionist. She rejected any suggestion of blackmail and dared the lawyer to sue her, stating that she would defend herself with evidence. Her remarks intensified public interest in the controversy, which has dominated online discussions for weeks.
The conflict escalated earlier in December when Ogala accused Pastor Okafor of breaching a promise to marry her after what she described as a long-term relationship. She alleged that she was introduced to his family, supported him emotionally, and transferred significant sums of money to him. The situation worsened after the pastor reportedly married another woman, identified as Pearl, prompting Ogala to issue a pre-action notice demanding ₦1 billion in damages for emotional distress and breach of promise.

The saga took a dramatic turn when Ogala was briefly arrested following her online posts that included private images and threats of further revelations. Reports later suggested that Pastor Okafor intervened behind the scenes to secure her release and sought reconciliation, though tensions have clearly persisted.
In her latest outburst, Ogala also addressed a related legal dispute involving social media activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan. She issued a 24-hour ultimatum to Pastor Okafor, demanding an apology and the withdrawal of any lawsuit against the activist or risk further exposure of alleged private dealings. Her statement added another layer of controversy to an already complex legal battle.
Pastor Okafor’s legal team has largely focused its public response on denying paternity allegations made by another woman and has called for DNA testing, public retractions, and apologies. They have warned of defamation suits while distancing the cleric from Ogala’s claims. As of the time of publication, neither the pastor nor his lawyers have responded directly to Ogala’s latest demands.
The unfolding drama has sharply divided public opinion, with some expressing sympathy for Ogala’s claims of betrayal and others criticizing her decision to pursue the dispute publicly. The controversy underscores the volatile mix of celebrity relationships, religion, legal threats, and social media in Nigeria, as observers await the next move in a saga that shows no sign of cooling.
