The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has expressed deep appreciation to President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, and the Federal Government for honoring their commitments of providing houses, national honors, and plots of land to the Super Eagles players and officials following their runner-up finish at the 2023 AFCON.

During the presentation of title documents for the houses, certificates of national honors, and confirmation of land plots, attendees included the Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Mallam Shehu Dikko; NFF President, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau; a representative from the Presidency, Mrs. Nathan-Mash; Comptroller-General of Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi; Chairman of the Senate Committee on Sports, Senator Abdul Ningi; Chairman of the House Committee on Sports, Hon. Kabiru Amadu; NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi; Malam Saleh Ahmadu; and officials from the Nigeria Embassy in Morocco.

NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau attributed the significant motivation from the fulfillment of these promises to the team’s 2-1 victory over Tanzania in their opening match of the 35th Africa Cup of Nations finals in Morocco on Tuesday.

“We cannot express enough gratitude to His Excellency, Mr. President, for delivering on the promises of national honors and housing for the players and officials.

We also extend our thanks to the Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Mallam Shehu Dikko, the Director General of the NSC, and members of the Federal Executive Council for their contributions.

“The presentation of the title documents and certificates has positively boosted the morale of the players and officials, and we anticipate even better performances in the upcoming matches.

The team has secured the first three points, which is crucial, but we must also perform our best against Tunisia to secure a Round of 16 spot before the final group matches.”

Goals from defender Semi Ajayi, who scored with a powerful header, and Ademola Lookman, along with a strike from Charles M’Mbombwa, secured all three points for the Super Eagles at the Complexe Sportif de Fès on Tuesday.
