The son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Seyi Tinubu, has been officially appointed as the Okanlomo of Yorubaland.
The title was bestowed upon him on Sunday, December 21, 2025, by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, during a lively ceremony held at the Alaafin’s Palace in Oyo Town.
The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly and Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria,
Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin praised the honor as well-deserved.
He commended Seyi Tinubu for his increasing influence among the youth and his philanthropic efforts, stressing that the title signifies more than just a ceremonial role.

The event has garnered attention, particularly following a recent private meeting involving Seyi Tinubu, Nollywood actress Fathia Balogun Williams, and Alapini, which took place five months after Alapini’s emotional outburst that triggered widespread reactions on social media. This meeting has sparked further discussions among Nigerians.
