First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has responded to the backlash regarding her behaviour during the 10th coronation anniversary of the Ooni of Ife, Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, where she was awarded the title Yeye Asiwaju Gbogbo lle Oodua.
During the event, she allegedly told Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, to stop singing or she would turn off the microphone.
Also, she instructed the governor to wrap up his remarks within five minutes in honour of the Ooni and her title.
In response to the criticism, she took to Facebook to express that her followers often blow minor errors out of proportion.
“Those in leadership roles know their responsibilities and how to guide society. More often, it is the followers and critics who examine every action, exaggerate small mistakes, and create unnecessary controversies,” she stated, sharing a photo with the governor.
Many Nigerians have condemned her actions, labeling them disrespectful and a national embarrassment.
As of now, the Osun State government has not issued any comments regarding the incident or the ensuing public outcry.
