In acknowledgment of his exemplary service, the Security Situation Room (SSR) has declared the Edo State Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika, as the Commissioner of Police of the Year 2025, applauding his contributions to creating a safer environment for residents of the state.
To this end, the SSR has formally issued a letter of commendation to Agbonika, in recognition of his exceptional leadership, strategic initiatives, and resolute efforts in combating cultism and criminality across the state.
In a letter dated December 8, 2025, signed by the Convener, Douglas Ogbankwa, the Security Situation Room stated that it has closely monitored the commissioner’s performance with great satisfaction, noting his systemic, strategic, and solid approach to tackling cultism, which has significantly strengthened security operations within Edo State.

His astuteness, professionalism, and commitment to restoring peace and order were especially commended.
The organisation extended its warm wishes to the commissioner for a crime-free festive season, while assuring him of their highest regards and continuous support.
