A Federal High Court in Abuja has approved bail for rights activist and publisher Omoyele Sowore, while placing strict limits on his public commentary to prevent remarks that could stir tension against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Justice of the court delivered the ruling with conditions that allow temporary freedom but require careful conduct from the defendant.
The court held that Sowore remains eligible for bail, yet described his recent public statements as cause for concern. As part of the terms, he is barred from making comments in any form that could provoke disorder or challenge the authority of the President. This restriction applies to social media, public events, and published material. He is also required to remain within the jurisdiction and attend all hearings as directed.
