The Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Idowu Ajanaku, has called for stronger collective support from stakeholders to drive rapid development in Ose Local Government Area, stressing that meaningful progress cannot be achieved in isolation.
Ajanaku made the appeal while receiving members of the Ose Students’ Association of Nigeria, who paid him a courtesy visit at the Ministry’s headquarters. The Commissioner, who expressed delight at the visit, praised the students for their sincerity, boldness and commitment to the growth of their local government.
He acknowledged that Ose faces numerous infrastructural challenges but maintained that addressing them has remained one of his personal priorities since assuming office. According to him, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa is committed to ensuring even development across the state.
Ajanaku disclosed that the state government has approved an upward review of the Ikun–Afo Road project to ensure quality delivery by contractors. He also revealed that the Afo–Idoani Road has been captured in the 2026 budget, describing both projects as part of the administration’s renewed focus on the Irekari axis.
In addition, he announced the constitution of a government committee mandated to identify urgent developmental needs in the region for prompt intervention.
Earlier, President of the Association, Ajibua Emmanuel, commended the Commissioner for his accessibility and his commitment to the development of Ose LGA. He said the association is organising an Education Summit and Spelling Bee for secondary school students and sought partnership and support from the Ministry.
Similarly, Senate President of the association, Obasanya Monday, applauded the Commissioner for what he described as notable improvements in the state’s media landscape since he took office.
Other members of the delegation pledged their readiness to collaborate with the Commissioner in promoting the programmes and achievements of the present administration.
Ajanaku assured the students of both financial and moral support for their proposed Education Summit and Spelling Bee.
