The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 28-year-old serial impostor, Victor Cletus, for allegedly defrauding and sexually exploiting a young woman after posing as a medical doctor.
Cletus, who was later identified as a cleaner at Babcock University Teaching Hospital, Ilisan-Remo, had presented himself as a surgeon to the victim via Snapchat.
Believing his claims, the young woman confided in him about a medical concern involving a lump in her breast. Instead of offering professional help, the suspect allegedly abused her sexually and stole money from her Opay account.
Spokesperson for the command, CSP Omolola Odutola, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued on Friday. She said the victim reported the case after Cletus persistently demanded further sexual intimacy the day after the alleged assault, raising her suspicion.
Odutola revealed that the victim independently contacted the hospital and discovered that Cletus was not a surgeon, but a cleaner employed by the institution.

“Taking advantage of her vulnerability, the suspect fraudulently demanded money as an operation fee, and deceitfully instructed her to meet him for a surgical procedure on 18/11/2025,” Odutola said.
Following investigations, the suspect was arrested and will be prosecuted accordingly.
The command, issuing a public warning, urged especially young females to remain cautious on social media, where criminals often disguise themselves with fake identities to lure and exploit unsuspecting victims.
Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, condemned the incident, warning that the command would not tolerate exploitation, deception, or sexual violence in any form.
He advised the public to be wary of sharing personal or medical information with strangers online.
