An unspecified number of students and staff have been kidnapped from St. Mary’s School, a Catholic missionary institution located in the Papiri Community of Agwara Local Government Area in Niger State.
Reports are still emerging regarding the incident, which occurred when armed assailants stormed the school in the early hours of Friday. Local officials in Agwara stated that the attackers struck between 2 am and 3 am. They noted that the precise number of those abducted remains unclear as families and school officials are still determining who is unaccounted for.

This incident follows closely on the heels of the kidnapping of 25 students in Maga, Kebbi State just four days prior. Additionally, over 50 schools in Kwara State were closed on Thursday due to ongoing terrorist threats in nearby communities.
