Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has handed over newly acquired Nigerian-made operational patrol vehicles to the state’s security agencies, in a move aimed at strengthening efforts to combat insecurity.
The handover ceremony, held at the Government House in Yola, was attended by Deputy Governor Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta, senior government officials, and heads of security agencies in the state.
Governor Fintiri commended the security agencies for their dedication, noting that their efforts have helped position Adamawa as one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria. He described the donation as a boost to ongoing security operations, ensuring residents continue to live without fear.
“Maintaining peace is not an easy task; it requires commitment and investment from the government,” Fintiri said. “We will continue to support our security agencies so they can perform their duties effectively.”

He also highlighted that Adamawa’s relative peace has made the state an attractive destination for investors, urging businesses to take advantage of the conducive environment. The governor emphasized the strong partnership between the state government and security agencies, pledging to sustain it for the safety of residents.
Representing the security agencies, Adamawa State Brigade Commandant Brigadier General Ogbonnaya Amechi Agwu applauded the governor for putting words into action. He said the patrol vehicles would boost personnel morale, enhance frontline operations, and help address pockets of insecurity across the state.
“The effective use of these vehicles will strengthen our capacity to combat criminal elements and ensure the safety of Adamawa residents,” Agwu added.
