LeBron James made history by becoming the first player to participate in 23 consecutive NBA seasons when he took the court for the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday.
The 40-year-old, who had missed the team’s first 14 games of the season due to sciatica, recorded 11 points, 12 assists, and three rebounds in 30 minutes during a 140-126 victory against the Utah Jazz.
As the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, James surpassed Vince Carter’s previous record of 22 consecutive seasons played.
Additionally, his two three-pointers moved him past Reggie Miller into sixth place on the NBA’s all-time three-pointers made list.

“It’s been a long time since he played basketball, so I think for the first game back, he looked amazing,” said Lakers teammate Luka Doncic.
“He’s going to keep finding his rhythm and will be a big help for us.”
Doncic led the game with 37 points and four steals, also contributing 10 assists and five rebounds. Austin Reaves added 26 points for the Lakers, while Keyonte George and Lauri Markkanen scored 34 and 31 points, respectively, for Utah.
This victory places the Lakers fourth in the Western Conference, while the Jazz sit in 10th place.
