A former Delta State Commissioner for Environment, Dr George Ugbomah, will chair the public presentation of a new legal text that is drawing strong attention across academic and policy circles for its focus on data privacy and the future of Nigeria’s digital rights framework. The launch is set for Tuesday, 18 November 2025, at the Multi-Purpose Hall of Admiralty University of Nigeria on the Asaba–Ugwashi-Ukwu Road.
The Vice Chancellor of Admiralty University, Prof Christopher Bankole Ndubuisi, will host the gathering, while respected legal scholar Dr Anthony Idigbe, SAN, will serve as Chief Launcher. Their involvement has already placed the event in the spotlight among experts working in technology regulation and digital governance.
The book, “Breaking Frontiers in Data Privacy and Protection Law in Nigeria,” examines the country’s evolving legal landscape with attention to privacy rights, cybersecurity, digital oversight, and the responsibilities of institutions that manage personal data. Its release comes at a time when Nigeria is tightening compliance structures and updating its approach to data protection.

Commentators note that the publication arrives during a national shift toward modern data governance standards. They say it offers timely guidance for regulators, lawmakers, and organisations seeking clarity in a field that is moving quickly.
The organisers expect a wide audience, including lawyers, academics, public officials, students, and citizens interested in the direction of digital policy. They describe the launch as an important forum for ideas that could influence future legislation and expand public awareness of how data is collected, stored, and used.
The event will begin at 11:00 a.m. on the announced date.
