The Delta State Police Command has arrested a 54-year-old man, Edward Odega, for allegedly defiling his three daughters over a period of seven years.

Police spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe confirmed the arrest on Saturday in Asaba, saying the case came to light after one of the victims disclosed her ordeal during a school outreach conducted by CSP Temi Agbede Zuokumor, the Divisional Police Officer of Ogborikoko Division.

Edafe said the three victims, now aged 13, 15 and 24, are receiving medical attention.

He added that Odega confessed during interrogation, admitting he began abusing his first daughter when she was 12 and later defiled the other two.

“The suspect is in custody and will be charged to court to face full prosecution in line with the state’s sexual offences laws,” Edafe stated.

The arrest follows similar incidents in October when Ondo State Police Command detained two fathers, Azeez Lamidi and Oyewole Adamolekun, for allegedly impregnating their daughters after repeated sexual abuse.
