The air component of the Joint Task Force under ‘Operation FANSAN YAMMA’ achieved a significant breakthrough with precision airg strikes on November 14, 2025, targeting a bandit camp in Sauri, Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
This information was disclosed by the Director of Public Relations and Information at the air force headquarters, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame on Saturday.
According to the press release, the operation was initiated after intelligence and surveillance confirmed active terrorist presence and rustled livestock at a high-ground hideout used as a base and logistics point by the criminals.
Acting on this intelligence, the air component launched coordinated strikes on the targets, hitting them directly and forcing surviving terrorists to flee into the surrounding vegetation.
The statement said the fleeing terrorists were subsequently tracked and engaged.
It also stated that the mission led to the neutralisation of numerous terrorists and the destruction of key structures and logistics sites, greatly impairing the terrorists’ operational capacity in the area.
“ The successful mission resulted in the neutralisation of numerous terrorists and the destruction of critical structures and logistics points, significantly degrading the criminals’ operational capability in the area.
“This decisive action reinforces the commitment of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, who has consistently pledged that the NAF will find them, hunt them down, and protect our people.
“ The operation underscores the unwavering resolve of the Joint Task Force and the NAF under Operation FANSAN YAMMA to deny terrorists safe havens, strengthen security in Zamfara State, and support wider national efforts to restore lasting peace and stability across the North West,” the statement added.
