The Delta State Government has directed all businesses in the tourism and hospitality sector to update their registration and clear outstanding renewal fees for 2025. The notice, issued by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, calls for immediate compliance from operators across the state.

The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Darlington Nnamdi Ijeh, explained that the directive covers hotels, motels, guest houses, restaurants, fast food outlets, tour companies, travel agencies, amusement parks, gardens and nightclubs. He noted that the state expects every outfit to comply with the laws regulating the industry.

The ministry stated that any operator who ignores the order risks sanctions, including the possible sealing of premises under existing state regulations. Dr. Ijeh urged business owners to show full cooperation as the government works to strengthen oversight and improve standards in the sector.

The state sees the renewed enforcement drive as a way to streamline activities, promote accountability and ensure that tourism-related enterprises operate within the approved legal structure. Operators are encouraged to visit the Delta State Tourism Board and complete all registration or renewal procedures without delay to avoid penalties.
