The Ilorin Zonal Directorate of the EFCC has handed over ₦104,091,162.46 to the Niger State government.
This was disclosed via the EFCC’s official X handle on Thursday.
According to the post, the official transfer occurred on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the commission’s office, GRA, Ilorin, after successfully recovering the funds from Kiara Rice Mills Limited, based in Kpatsuwa Village, Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger State.
The amount recovered represents the company’s unpaid tax liabilities from 2021 to 2024.
It also stated that in February 2025, the EFCC received intelligence that the multi-billion-naira company had not fully remitted its tax obligations despite operating profitably within the state—violating both federal tax laws and Niger State revenue regulations.
It said that an investigation by the EFCC’s Foreign Exchange Malpractice Section confirmed these infractions and led to the full recovery of the outstanding taxes.
During the presentation, EFCC Executive Chairman, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, represented by the Ilorin Zonal Director Commander, Ansalem Ozioko, reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to ensuring that public funds are properly accounted for and returned to their legitimate owners.
“The EFCC’s role is to prevent, investigate, and prosecute economic and financial crimes, recover stolen funds, and return them to rightful owners. That’s precisely what we are doing today,” Olukoyede stated.
He also urged ongoing cooperation between the Niger State government and the EFCC, highlighting the importance of transparency, accountability, and integrity in governance.

On behalf of the Niger State government, Alhaji Aminu Bawa, Group Head of Tax Operations at the Niger State Internal Revenue Service, praised the EFCC for its diligent and professional approach.
”Representing the Niger State government, I sincerely thank the Commission for this commendable recovery. This will positively impact the lives of our citizens,” he said.
He also confirmed that the recovered funds will be credited to the state’s account and used for developmental projects across Niger State.
