The acting Commander, Sector 4 ‘Operation Hadin Kai’ and Commander, 23 Brigade, Brigadier General Amechi Agwu, has reaffirmed the army’s commitment to deepening collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in the ongoing fight against drug trafficking and abuse in Adamawa State.

Brigadier General Agwu gave the assurance on Tuesday when he received the Adamawa State Commander of the NDLEA, Aliyu Abubakar, on a courtesy visit to the 23 Brigade headquarters in Yola.

Welcoming the NDLEA delegation, Brigadier General Agwu commended the agency for its consistent efforts in curbing drug-related crimes, noting that inter-agency cooperation remains crucial to ensuring lasting peace and security in the state.

He acknowledged the existing synergy between the brigade and the NDLEA, pledging to further enhance joint operations to protect lives and property within their areas of responsibility.

The brigade commander also urged the newly appointed NDLEA state commander to ensure the diligent prosecution of drug offenders.

Responding, Abubakar praised Brigadier General Agwu for his leadership and dedication to promoting unity among the security agencies in Adamawa State.

He reaffirmed the NDLEA’s determination to dismantle drug cartels and curb substance abuse, while calling for continued military support in executing the agency’s operations.

The visit marked a renewed commitment by both agencies to work closely in advancing national security and safeguarding communities from the dangers of drug trafficking and abuse.
