Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has signed into law a N128.58 billion supplementary budget for the 2025 fiscal year, along with a N47.12 billion virement earlier approved by the state House of Assembly.
Speaking at the signing ceremony over the weekend, Gov. Kefas said the additional allocation is targeted at addressing urgent funding gaps in critical sectors including security, infrastructure, and economic development.
He explained that the move would also help cushion the impact of inflation and exchange rate volatility on ongoing projects across the state.

According to the report of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, the supplementary budget is expected to boost the state’s capacity to tackle emerging economic and security challenges, align spending with the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF), and accelerate the delivery of key development initiatives.
With this approval, Taraba State’s total budget for 2025 now stands at ₦574.8 billion. Capital expenditure constitutes 68.9% of the budget, while recurrent expenditure accounts for 31.1%.
The House committee also urged the state government to uphold transparency and accountability in the implementation process and ensure timely release of funds to achieve the objectives of the supplementary budget.
