The Chairman of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), Ebonyi State Chapter, Mr Felix Nomeh, has retracted his earlier statement accusing the state government of deploying cultists into the committee set up to close down substandard and illegal schools in the state.
Speaking on Thursday in Abakaliki, Nomeh commended the committee for its commitment to duty and dedication to upholding the new education policies of the Ebonyi State Government.
He clarified that his previous statement was made in error, noting that further investigation revealed that those who allegedly attacked and threatened him were not members of the government’s committee.
According to him, “I have come to realize that the suspects who threatened to kill me were not part of the committee. I regret my earlier comments against the committee and its members.”
Nomeh tendered an unreserved apology to the committee and the Ministry of Education, assuring the government of NAPPS’s readiness to cooperate fully in ensuring that all substandard and illegal schools are eradicated from the state.

“After careful verification, the hoodlums who attacked me have been identified, and they were never part of the committee,” Nomeh added.
He praised the committee for its professionalism and reaffirmed NAPPS’s support for the ongoing reforms in the state’s education sector.
