Senate President Godswill Akpabio challenged Nigerian youths not to be discouraged about Nigeria’s future.

He made the comment during an interactive session with the All Progressives Congress (APC) youths, titled: “An Uncommon Evening with the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio.”

Akpabio encouraged the youth not to lose hope regarding Nigeria’s future but to remain optimistic and have faith in their country.

He expressed confidence that the ongoing reforms by the Tinubu administration would lead to positive changes.

The event, held at the APC Youth House in Abuja, was organized by the APC National Youth Leader, Dayo Israel, as noted in a statement from the Senate President’s office.

He emphasized that “as a young person, you can contribute to changing Nigeria by doing the right things. Begin by cleaning your surroundings. Share what you have with others. Show love to one another.

“Don’t be discouraged by the current situation. The challenges you see today will not last forever. The poverty you witness now will be eradicated. Just have faith and believe that your time will come and Nigeria will improve.

“So, do not lose hope. Do not feel disheartened about this country. Just have faith in Nigeria. I’m here to uplift you. The mind is more powerful than the body. Ensure your mindset is stronger than any physical limitations.

“Believe that your country will improve. Trust that you will succeed in life, and you will. Have faith that you will be a catalyst for change in your generation, because the mind is indeed more powerful than the body.

“My message to the Nigerian youth is to cultivate a positive mindset, have faith in Nigeria, and think positively about the country, as your thoughts will shape Nigeria’s future.”

Akpabio praised the APC, stating: “The APC is not a coincidence. It is a well-conceived vision. The APC is a vehicle for transformation, leadership, and change. It is the only stable political party in Nigeria that can ensure your electoral success in the future.

“You are not just the leaders of tomorrow; you are the leaders of today.

“I chose to honor the national youth leader and all of you here tonight because I firmly believe in the potential of youth.

“Tonight, I want to remind you not to wait to become leaders of tomorrow. You are leaders now. Identify your mission to unite Nigeria, promote love among one another, and earn respect from the international community by fulfilling your responsibilities diligently.”
