Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has responded to the resignation of the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Uche Nnaji, stating that President Bola Tinubu has turned forgery into governance.
He asserted that “when a man of questionable identity leads a country, deception becomes the standard.”
Atiku described this situation as a “deep moral crisis” at the heart of Tinubu’s administration.
In a strongly worded statement on Wednesday, Atiku emphasized that Nnaji’s departure should not be seen as a “voluntary resignation,” but rather as a national scandal that highlights the government’s acceptance of deceit and forgery.

He accused the administration of protecting officials with falsified credentials, arguing that Nnaji should have been dismissed and prosecuted instead of being allowed to resign quietly.
Atiku also criticized the Department of State Services (DSS), claiming it failed the Nigerian people by approving Nnaji despite clear warning signs, in stark contrast to its earlier decision to block Nasir el-Rufai due to “security concerns.”
The former vice president stated that this scandal reflects a broader trend of falsification within the Tinubu administration, suggesting that it originates from the highest levels.
He pointed to ongoing controversies regarding Tinubu’s own academic and identity records, asserting that this moral decline has permeated the entire system.
Atiku called for an independent investigation into the academic and professional qualifications of all members of the Federal Executive Council, beginning with Tinubu, warning that Nigeria’s integrity and reputation are at stake until the truth is revealed.
