The 12-storey podium block building at the River State secretariat has been engulfed by fire.
As at the time of filing this report, fire fighters from the state fire service are said to be making frantic efforts to contain the fire.
The cause of the fire has not been established, though sabotage is being suspected, as the fire is said to have started from the pensions board office.

Last week, Governor Siminalayi Fubara sacked the pensions board inaugurated by the outgone sole administrator and directed the members to surrender properties of the board in their possession.
The governor has been fuming over the complicity of some government officials in running the state down during the emergency regime.
The fire outbreak could be attempt to destroy some documents that may implicate certain officials in the sleaze that allegedly took place during the emergency period.
