Nigeria’s weightlifting star, Rafiatu Lawal, showcased her remarkable talent at the IWF World Championships held in Førde, Norway, making history in the process.
In the snatch event, Rafiatu opened her competition with an impressive lift of 101 kg, which earned her a well-deserved silver medal and set a strong tone for the rest of the event.
Demonstrating her exceptional skill and determination, she followed up with a clean and jerk lift of 128 kg, again securing a silver medal.
With a combined total of 229 kg from both lifts, Lawal finished in second place overall, earning her the silver medal in the championship.

Currently, Rafiatu holds the prestigious rank of number two in the world, underscoring her status as one of the top competitors in international weightlifting.
