Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has terminated the appointment of Hajiya Zainab Baban-Takko as the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development as part of a minor reshuffle in the state’s executive cabinet.
The announcement was made early Monday by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, who confirmed that the change is effective immediately.
“In a slight reconfiguration of the State Executive Council, Hajiya Zainab Baban-Takko has been relieved of her duties as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development,” the statement indicated.

Although no specific reasons were provided for her dismissal, the governor expressed gratitude for her service and wished her success in her future endeavors.
“Governor Bala Mohammed appreciates the former commissioner for her contributions to the state and extends his best wishes as she moves forward,” Gidado noted.
Hajiya Baban-Takko was appointed commissioner on September 9, 2024, after previously serving as the caretaker chairperson of Bauchi Local Government Area, a role she took on in July 2023.
Her dismissal occurs alongside other administrative changes in the state, including the recent firing of two senior civil servants by the Bauchi State Civil Service Commission due to allegations of document forgery.
