Eight members of the Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba State have publicly distanced themselves from a purported list of newly elected state executive committee members allegedly released by the former caretaker chairman, Dr. Victor Fallack.

In a joint statement issued on Sunday, the committee members said the list currently circulating within party circles, in which Dr. Fallack reportedly named himself as chairman and included some of them as members, was compiled without their knowledge or consultation.

The signatories described the development as misleading and clarified that they do not recognise the list.

According to them, the decision by the former chairman to publish the list was taken “single-handedly without consulting any member of the Caretaker Committee.”

They explained that their clarification became necessary to prevent confusion within the party and to protect the unity and stability of the PDP in Taraba State.

“We have formally dissociated ourselves from the list being circulated by Dr. Victor Fallack as it was put together without our knowledge or approval,” the statement read.

The members reaffirmed their commitment to the unity and progress of the party, stressing their determination to promote peaceful political engagement across the state.

They also commended party delegates for what they described as their mature and orderly conduct during the recently concluded ward, local government, and state congresses held across Taraba State.

“We want to thank all our delegates for the matured way they conducted themselves from the wards to the local government areas and the state congresses,” the statement added.

Those who signed the statement include Terna Anzamber (Donga LGA), Hikon Hosea (Wukari LGA), Hamisu Maigari (Gassol LGA), Zubulun Dauda Hamman (Karim Lamido LGA), Yakubu Balutu (Karim Lamido LGA), Hauwa Adam Imam (Jalingo LGA), Ali Musa (Takum LGA), and Hon. Polycarp Apura (Ussa/Yangtu LGA).

The signatories reiterated their dedication to strengthening internal democratic processes within the PDP and urged party members across Taraba State to remain calm while efforts continue to foster unity within the party.
