Six hoodlums attacking and robbing innocent people have been arrested by police operatives at Atikankan area of Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.
It was gathered that the hoodlums were arrested on Thursday at about 11:20am.
Trouble started in the area when men of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) and commercial motorcycle riders engaged in a violent clash over the death of a motorcycle ticketing officer.
Police Public Relations Officer of the Ekiti State Police Command, SP Abutu Sunday in a statement, noted that the command acted on a distress call from the area.

He asserted that operatives of the rapid response squad of the state police command, were drafted to the area where six suspects were arrested.
He said: “Today, being 09/01/2025 at about 11:20hrs, the command received a distress call that some hoodlums were attacking and robbing innocent people in Atikankan Area of Ado-Ekiti.
“The operatives of the rapid response squad were deployed to the axis where six of the suspects were arrested. They are currently undergoing investigation. Effort is underway to arrest other fleeing members of the gang.”
