Troops of the 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army, operating under Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), have apprehended a notorious kidnap suspect in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State.
The arrest was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday by the Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Lt. Umar Muhammad, who noted that the breakthrough was achieved as part of Operation Zafin Wuta.
According to the statement, troops acting on credible intelligence arrested the suspect, Umar Musa Geyi, on 22 November 2025 at Jandei-Kulamu in Wukari. Troops reportedly intercepted Geyi during a phone conversation in which he confirmed that the victim remained in custody and demanded a ₦20 million ransom.
