The Borno State Command of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), has apprehended six suspects linked to a series of kidnappings, armed robberies, and extortion activities within the state.
In a press release yesterday made available to media men in the state by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Nahum Kenneth Daso, the suspects were on October 25, 2024, in an operation that took place in Chingowa Village of Konduga local government council of the state.
The suspects who are currently cooling off their heads in police custody, were identified as, Modu Bindimi (26), Koso Modu Gana (24), Kassim Bulama (27).
Others are, Isah Muhammad (21),
Zarami Fantami (22) and Modu Bunu (24).
Items announced to have been recovered from them during the operation, includes, one pump-action gun, a live cartridge, and N2,637,000 in cash.
According to the police statement, preliminary investigations suggest that the suspects were involved in multiple armed robberies and kidnappings targeting residents of Magumeri and Konduga local government council .

Authorities also revealed that the suspects allegedly extorted money from villagers under the pretense of a “tax” to prevent their own criminal attacks.
While commending the officers involved in the successful operation, the Commissioner of Police, Yusufu Mohammed Lawal, reaffirmed the Command’s dedication to maintaining public safety.
He also urged citizens to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities, providing emergency hotlines for assistance: 0806 807 5581 and 0802 347 3293.
The suspects, as lucidly made known in the statement, are expected to face court proceedings after the investigation is complete.
