The Trumpet learnt that the father of four and a resident of Ajowa Akoko in Akoko North West Local Government Area of Ondo State was killed by bandits. He was gunned down after attempting to escape from the scene of a kidnapping very close to a spot where the popular Abuja-Ajowa bound driver, Toyin Mallah, was murdered recently on his way from Abuja.

Abayomi’s lifeless body was discovered after a passer-by reported the incident to the Police. The deceased was said to be on his way to work when the assailants shot him.

Reacting to the incident, a community spokesman, Mr Soji Ogedengbe, revealed that Ajowa Community has done much in the area of security through communal and self-help efforts.

Ogedengbe called on Police and Amotekun to deploy more personnel to Ajowa Akoko a border town to Kogi State.

When contacted for comment, the Police Area Commander in charge of Akoko North, ACP Muri Agboola and Okeagbe Divisional Police Officer, Superintendent of Police, Paulinus Onnah, confirmed the incident.
