The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested and detained four of its officers over alleged misconduct and use of excessive force during an arrest in Fufore Local Government Area.
A statement released on Tuesday by the command’s spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, said the incident took place on October 14, 2025, at the Sabon Gari Quarters in Fufore.
The officers were confirmed to have been seen in a viral video, allegedly using excessive force and firing shots while arresting a suspect.
The state Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, condemned the action of the officers, describing their behavior as unprofessional and unacceptable.
He equally assured the public that appropriate disciplinary measures would be taken.

The police commissioner has directed the assistant commissioner of police in-charge of the IGP’s X-Squad to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation into the incident.
He also urged the public to remain calm, emphasizing the command’s commitment to accountability, discipline, and professional policing.
