A 30-year-old, identified as Musa Garba, has been arrested by the Adamawa state police command on charges of sexual assault against two minors.
The arrest, according to the command, is part of the Command’s ongoing efforts to combat gender-based violence (GBV) in the state.
Making the announcement yesterday in Yola, via a statement made available to media practitioners by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), the suspect was alleged to have intercepted the minors on October 27, 2024, as they were returning from school in the Numan local government council.
He was also alleged to have reportedly lured them into an unfinished building, where the assault took place.

The investigation, according to the police, began after the victims’ parents noticed concerns about changes in their children’s behavior and subsequently reported it to the police.
The suspect, as at the time of filing this report, is said to be currently cooling off his heels in police custody
The police have also confirmed that he will be charged in court once the investigation is complete.
Reiterating the Command’s commitment to protecting vulnerable groups and ensuring justice for victims of gender-based violence, the command beckoned to the public to always make available to security agencies genuine information that will assist in tracking down those making life cumbersome for the good people of the state.
