A massive fire outbreak has ravaged the Okokomaiko police station and several surrounding buildings in Lagos, as reported by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency.
The incident began when a diesel tanker, which was supplying fuel to a nearby telecommunication mast, caught fire while discharging its contents.
According to Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the permanent secretary of the agency, the tanker, carrying 10,000 liters of diesel, quickly ignited, leading to a rapid spread of flames to nearby structures.
“Emergency response was activated following reports received via the Lagos emergency hotline. Upon arrival, the response teams found the loaded diesel tanker engulfed in flames.
