Senator Ali Ndume, who represents Borno South in the Senate, has declared his readiness to sacrifice his life in pursuit of speaking the truth.
Sen. Ndume made the statement during an interview on Arise Television, where he reiterated that his criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s administration stems from his desire to see Nigeria transform, not from personal animosity.
“I’m 65, and I have been in this business for 24 years. God has done everything for me. The only thing I have to do right now, and I am prepared to die doing it, is to speak the truth and do what is right,” he said.
Addressing speculations of a rift between him and President Tinubu, the senator dismissed claims of hostility, revealing that he once shared a close relationship with the president.
“I used to go to Tinubu’s bedroom both in Bourdillon and here in Lagos House and he knows me very well. If we meet casually, he’ll tell me, ‘I hear you,’” Sen. Ndume recounted.

The senator also refuted reports suggesting he was planning to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) or any coalition.
While admitting that internal issues exist within the APC, he said he has no immediate plans to defect.
“That is why I will not jump ship, but when the ship is getting overloaded with unnecessary cargo and may capsize, then I better consider the small ship,” he added.
Sen. Ndume has emerged as one of the notable voices in the Senate, often critical of the government’s policies, while maintaining that his loyalty remains with the APC for now.
