Delta State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has applauded Rep. Francis Waive for endorsing Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s re-election bid in 2027, calling it a patriotic move that transcends party politics.
In a political shift, Rep. Waive, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), urged his party to adopt Governor Oborevwori of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as the sole candidate in the next governorship race—a move Guwor described as courageous and people-centric.
Guwor emphasized that Governor Oborevwori’s leadership has delivered undeniable results in just one year and ten months, with transformative projects and policies benefiting Deltans across the state. “Even the blind can feel the positive changes,” the Speaker declared, reinforcing the governor’s growing popularity.

The Speaker praised Waive’s decision to prioritize Delta’s progress over partisan loyalty, stating, “This is the kind of leadership that sustains development.” He urged other political leaders to follow Waive’s example, emphasizing that unity is crucial for Delta’s continued growth.
Addressing criticism from some APC members, Guwor argued that adopting Oborevwori as a consensus candidate would strengthen Delta’s political stability and accelerate development. “A united front ensures prosperity for all Deltans,” he asserted, expressing confidence that the governor’s MORE agenda will bring even greater achievements in a second term.
Guwor concluded by reaffirming that Delta State is on the right path under Oborevwori’s leadership. With continued support, the governor’s vision for a thriving Delta will be fully realized, setting a benchmark for governance in Nigeria.
