Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno has purchased 30,000 tickets for football fans and supporters of the Super Eagles ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualification match against Zimbabwe scheduled for Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
This is In line with his determination and promise to moblize support for the victory of the Super Eagles against the Warriors of Zimbabwe.
A statement signed by the state Commissioner for sports, Elder Paul Bassey, said the gesture by the governor is to encourage citizens and residents of the state to come out en masse and cheer the Super Eagles to victory.
Sequel to the purchase of match tickets for onward distribution to fans, venues have been reserved as distribution centres for match tickets as from 5pm on Monday, March 24:

They include, all radio stations, Uyo Township Stadium, Uyo, Plaza Management Committee Office, Ibom Plaza, Uyo and all previous sales agents and centres.
The statement maintained that the tickets are free, stating that no person will be permitted entry into the stadium without tickets, while tickets will not be distributed at the stadium.
It added that all FIFA/CAF/NFF rules bordering on the organization of international football matches would be strictly adhered to, while security agencies have been put on notice to ensure strict compliance to all the aforementioned.
