The Nigeria Police Force has announced that the physical and credential screening for applicants seeking enlistment as constables in the 2025/2026 recruitment exercise will begin on March 9 in Lagos State.
The exercise, organised by the Lagos State Police Command, will take place at the Nigeria Police College Ikeja and will run daily from 7:00 a.m. until April 18.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by the command’s spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, who said the screening is strictly for applicants who are indigenes of Lagos State and who successfully completed the online application for recruitment as General Duty and Specialist Police Constables.
According to the command, candidates are expected to appear for the exercise dressed in clean white T-shirts and shorts while presenting all required documents arranged in two white flat files. Among the mandatory documents are the official invitation slip showing the assigned screening table, the completed credential screening form, and a printout or card of the National Identification Number issued by the National Identity Management Commission.
Applicants must also present their O’Level certificates, birth certificates or declaration of age, as well as Local Government or State of Origin certificates. Those applying under specialist categories are required to bring their trade test certificates as part of the verification process.
The police further stated that candidates must submit a duly completed guarantors’ form along with photocopies and passport photographs of their referees. Both original and duplicate copies of credentials are expected to be packaged separately in the two flat files with recent passport photographs attached.

The command warned that any applicant who fails to present the required documents will not be allowed to participate in the screening exercise.
Adebisi urged all candidates to strictly follow the dates assigned to them and comply with all guidelines to ensure a smooth screening process. She also stressed that the recruitment exercise is completely free and will be conducted strictly on merit in line with professional standards of the Nigeria Police Force.
The Lagos Police Command cautioned members of the public to be vigilant and report anyone demanding payment in connection with the recruitment process, noting that such acts constitute fraud.
