As the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has thrown its presidential ticket open, Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal and former governor of Abia State, Peter Obi have intensified their consultations with critical stakeholders in the party.
Both aspirants took turns meeting with PDP lawmakers in both chambers of the National Assembly.
Obi first met with the Senate PDP Caucus at the Maitama residence of the Senate Minority Leader, Enyinnaya Abaribe and later met the House of Representatives caucus at the residence of the House Leader, Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, The Trumpet gathered.
Immediately Obi left the two venues, the lawmakers remained seated to receive Tambuwal.

The two aspirants presented their agenda and solicited the support of the legislators.
The lawmakers in turn urged both Obi and Tambuwal to work with other aspirants in ensuring that the best candidate emerges as PDP standard-bearer in 2023.
The legislators also assured all aspirants of readiness by other organs of the party to give all aspirants equal opportunity and provide a level playing ground.
