On Friday night, a three-storey building under construction collapsed in Yaba, a suburb of Lagos, resulting in the recovery of two male bodies.

The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. at No. 333 Borno Street, Alagomeji, where the structure collapsed, trapping several individuals inside.

In an interview with reporters on Saturday,, the acting Head of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Lagos Operations Office, Mrs. Ibitayo Adenike confirmed the grim discovery of the two fatalities.

The scene has seen a coordinated response from a multitude of emergency agencies. Key responders include the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, the Lagos State Building and Control Agency, and the police, all of whom are working tirelessly to manage the crisis and assist those affected.

As the situation develops, authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any missing persons who may have been involved in the collapse.

The community is also reminded of the importance of adhering to building regulations to prevent such tragedies in the future.
