In a resounding promise to the people of Isoko South Local Government Area, Hon. Friday Warri, the newly elected Chairman, has vowed to deliver exceptional governance and infrastructure improvements. Marking his 100th day in office with a press briefing, Warri highlighted his administration’s early accomplishments and laid out his roadmap for continued growth and stability.

Since taking office on July 15, 2024, Hon. Warri has faced significant challenges but remains committed to revitalizing Isoko South. “When I assumed leadership, the realities I encountered were unexpected. Yet, we must inherit both assets and liabilities. My administration is determined to turn these challenges into opportunities,” he said.

Among his administration’s early achievements, Hon. Warri cited the repair of the Ogbemudia Expressway, a crucial road neglected for decades. “We promised to tackle the Ogbemudia Expressway, and today, that’s a done deal. Go see for yourself,” he proudly announced.

In a significant infrastructure project, Hon. Warri noted that the Chairman’s quarters, previously in disrepair, are undergoing 75% renovation with completion expected by year-end. “This local government deserves a facelift, and our efforts will redefine its image.”

The administration has initiated construction of a modern gate and perimeter fencing for the council premises, aiming for a completion before year-end. Similarly, the Head of Personnel Management (HPM) quarters are receiving substantial upgrades.

Committed to fostering peace, Hon. Warri and his team have actively engaged with communities across Isoko South to resolve local conflicts. “We worked tirelessly to restore peace in Olomoro and resolve the leadership tussle in Okpolo-Enhwe and Enhwe. Today, the entire Isoko South enjoys harmony,” he affirmed.

100 Days in Office: LG boss vows unprecedented transformation for Isoko SouthIn a visit to Ikpide-Irri, Hon. Warri was disheartened by the condition of the local primary school, which had only one teacher who also served as the Head of Personnel Management. He pledged to address these gaps, assuring that, “Within days, we will deploy more teachers, and by our one-year mark, it will be a changed story.”

Upon assuming office, Hon. Warri cleared Oleh’s Yanga Junction of illegal structures, particularly those under high-tension wires. “While some structures have resurfaced, we are committed to reclaiming and beautifying this vital area.”

He further emphasized a new culture of accountability in the council. “Today, I can proudly say that by 8 AM, our staff are present and ready to work. We are instilling a sense of dedication in all council workers.”

Though the council faces financial constraints due to minimal federal allocations, especially with a large portion allocated to primary school teachers, Hon. Warri is exploring ways to ensure only deserving teachers receive salaries. On local government autonomy, he stated, “The Federal Government assures us that autonomy is coming, and we are preparing to maximize it.” Warri concludes.
