The Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Bassey Otu, has congratulated Cross River-born Super Falcons player, Miracle Usani.
Usani was among the WAFCON winning Super Falcons of Nigeria who came from two goals down to defeat host nation, Morocco 3:2 in a keenly contested WAFCON final in Morocco.
In a congratulatory message by Governor Otu signed by his Chief Press Secretary and special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Linus Obog, the governor lauded Miracle Ofem Usani, for winning her first senior continental title.
The Governor described Usani as a “shining ambassador” and “daughter of destiny” whose contribution to the Super Falcons’ success has brought immeasurable joy and pride to Cross River State.
Miracle, hails from Ibenda 1 Biko Biko, Ugep in Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State and was named in the Best XI of the CAF Women’s Champions League who was among the WAFCON-winning players honored by the Nigerian government with a national award, financial gifts, and housing.
“Miracle has etched Cross River’s name on the golden map of African football. Her courage, elegance, and excellence on the pitch reflect the pride, passion, and purpose we hold dear as a people”, the governor noted.
He commended the former U17 International and Edo Queens player for her composure, skill, and tenacity on the continental stage, noting that her achievement is not only a personal milestone but a source of collective pride for Cross Riverians across the globe.
“Your dazzling performance has not only brought glory to the nation but has cast a radiant spotlight on our dear state, particularly your hometown of Biko Biko, Ugep. You are a worthy ambassador; graceful in skill, noble in spirit, and gallant in resolve.
