Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin has extended his congratulations to the Super Falcons for their victory over Morocco in the recently concluded prestigious African women’s championship.
In a post on his Facebook page, Sen. Jibrin expressed his pride in the team’s achievement, highlighting it as a reflection of the resilience, talent, and unwavering national spirit of Nigeria’s female athletes.
“Our Super Falcons triumphed over the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco with a score of 3-2 in an exciting final match of the 13th WAFCON, held at the Rabat Olympic Stadium in Morocco.”
He emphasized that this victory showcases the players’ determination and skill.
“This is a moment of great pride and celebration for our nation. The Super Falcons have once again demonstrated Nigeria’s dominance in African women’s football.”
He also praised the Nigerian U-20 women’s national team for their determination, discipline, and passion throughout the tournament, noting that their efforts will inspire a new generation of Nigerian girls to pursue their dreams.

In a thrilling match against Morocco, the Nigerian Super Falcons made history by becoming the first African team to win the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) an unprecedented 10 times.
In a dramatic final in Rabat, the Falcons staged an impressive comeback, winning 3-2 against the host nation Morocco, fulfilling their #MissionX.
After trailing 2-0 at halftime, the odds appeared against the Nigerian team. However, in true Super Falcons style, they delivered a stunning second-half performance that amazed the home crowd and reinforced their dominance in African women’s football.
