Reality TV star Porsha Williams’ estranged husband, Simon Guobadia, has been deported to Nigeria after spending several months in the custody of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at the Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, Georgia.

Sources close to the 61-year-old businessman confirmed that he was placed on a flight back to Nigeria in early October 2023, following his arrest by immigration authorities in February of the same year.

Despite the challenging and often harsh conditions within the detention center, friends report that Simon remains in “good spirits.”

He is reportedly focusing on his future endeavours and aspires to reconnect with influential figures, including former President Donald Trump, as he navigates his path forward.

Simon Guobadia is no longer listed in the custody records of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, which signifies the finalization of his deportation process.

Since returning to Nigeria, he has launched a T-shirt line aimed at raising awareness and financial support for individuals who have been affected by immigration detentions, drawing from his own experiences during his time in custody.

Having initially arrived in the United States in 1982, Simon faced immigration challenges over the years, including overstaying his visa on two occasions.

This history significantly impacted his ability to secure U.S. citizenship.

The divorce proceedings between Simon and Porsha Williams, who filed for divorce in February 2024, after 15 months of marriage, will now continue remotely via video conferencing.

Legal processes had been repeatedly postponed, while Simon was incarcerated, but now that he has returned to Nigeria, the divorce proceedings are expected to resume
