Manchester United is eyeing Brentford striker Bryan Mbeumo with a transfer bid of £45 million and an additional £10 million in bonuses for the Cameroon international.
This move comes in the context of part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe expressing serious concerns about the club’s financial situation in March, compounded by the repercussions of their defeat to Tottenham in the Europa League final.
The financial blow from that loss prevented the 20-time English champions from securing a Champions League spot, which would have guaranteed £70 million for participation in the prestigious competition.
