Manchester United has made an enhanced offer exceeding £60 million to acquire Brentford striker Bryan Mbeumo.
Earlier this month, United had a £45 million bid for the 25-year-old, along with up to £10 million in add-ons, turned down.
Discussions regarding the Cameroon forward, who would be the club’s second summer signing, are expected to continue this week.
After securing Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5 million, United aims to further bolster Ruben Amorim’s squad ahead of their pre-season training starting on July 7.
New Tottenham manager Thomas Frank is eager to reunite with Mbeumo, and other Champions League clubs have also shown interest in the player.
Reports indicate that Brentford would require at least the same amount received by Wolves for Cunha before agreeing to sell a player who has one year remaining on his contract.
Like Cunha, Mbeumo’s experience in the Premier League is seen as a significant advantage, as Amorim seeks players who can quickly adapt to help United start the season more positively than their previous three lackluster campaigns under Erik ten Hag.

Mbeumo achieved a personal best of 20 goals for Brentford last season and also provided nine assists.
As an international teammate of United goalkeeper Andre Onana, Mbeumo is expected to miss about four weeks of the 2025-26 season due to Cameroon’s participation in the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where they will face Gabon in their opening group match on December 24.
This renewed interest in Mbeumo coincides with ongoing speculation about Alejandro Garnacho’s future, especially after he shared a photo of himself in an Aston Villa shirt with ‘Rashford’ on the back on social media.
Marcus Rashford, another United player who has fallen out of favor, responded to Garnacho’s post with a message saying “my brother.” Garnacho has been valued at £60 million after being advised by Amorim to seek a new club this summer.
