Manchester United’s captain Bruno Fernandes, and Liverpool’s forward Mohamed Salah are among the six players nominated for the Professional Footballers’ Association’s Players’ Player of the Year award.
Liverpool, the reigning Premier League champions, have two nominees, Argentina’s midfielder Alexis Mac Allister and Salah, who has previously won the Premier League Player of the Season award.
Salah, who netted 29 goals and provided 18 assists last season, is seeking to win the award for an unprecedented third time.
Newcastle United’s forward Alexander Isak is also nominated after scoring 27 goals in 42 matches, helping his team qualify for the Champions League.
Despite Manchester United finishing a disappointing 15th in the Premier League, Fernandes managed to score eight goals and contribute 10 assists for the team last season.

Chelsea’s playmaker Cole Palmer and Arsenal’s midfielder Declan Rice round out the list of nominees.
The award winner will be revealed on August 19 at a ceremony in Manchester.
Arsenal’s midfielder Mariona Caldentey is the frontrunner for the WSL’s Players’ Player of the Year award.
The Spanish international, who won the WSL Player of the Year award in May, scored nine goals and provided five assists last season.
Caldentey is joined by her Arsenal teammate Alessia Russo, who was a joint-top scorer in the WSL with 12 goals.
Chelsea’s Scottish midfielder Erin Cuthbert, who scored four goals as the Blues clinched the WSL title for the sixth consecutive year, is also nominated.
Manchester City players Yui Hasegawa and Mary Fowler received nominations, while Manchester United’s goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce from the United States completes the nominee list.
