Diddy is seeking a new opportunity for freedom as his legal team has submitted a fresh bail motion, asserting that he is the only person in the United States incarcerated for hiring male sex workers to engage with his girlfriend.
Led by attorneys Marc Agnifilo and Teny Geragos, Diddy’s legal team has presented a new bail proposal to Judge Arun Subramanian, outlining several reasons why they believe he should be released before his sentencing on October 3.
Documents obtained by TMZ show Diddy’s lawyers contend that most individuals convicted of Mann Act offenses, like the two counts Diddy was found guilty of, are typically released before their sentencing.
His team argues that it is absurd for him to be in jail, as he was only convicted for hiring professional male escorts, who were not minors, to participate in sexual activities with his long-term girlfriend as part of a consensual swinging lifestyle.
They emphasize that this arrangement involved Diddy, Cassie, and another woman referred to as “Jane.”
Diddy’s attorneys also point out that societal attitudes towards sex have evolved significantly since the Mann Act was enacted 115 years ago in June 1910, claiming that Diddy did not engage in sexual acts with the escorts he hired; only his ex-girlfriends did.
Diddy is set to be sentenced on October 3 after being convicted on prostitution-related charges, while more serious charges, including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, were dismissed.
He was denied bail shortly after the jury delivered its verdict.

The judge deemed Diddy a potential threat to the community due to his violent history, which his defense acknowledged during the trial.
In their documents, Diddy’s defense maintains that he only acted violently towards Jane in June 2024 after she instigated the confrontation, asserting that this was the sole instance of violence since his breakup with Cassie.
The jury viewed a video of Diddy assaulting Cassie in a hotel from March 2016, but his legal team argues that he has largely been non-violent since 2018, aside from the incident with Jane.
They assert that he would not pose a threat if released on bail.
Diddy’s proposed bail package includes a $50 million bond secured by his Florida property and co-signed by three financially responsible individuals.
The proposal stipulates that Diddy would reside at his Miami home and restrict his travel to the Southern District of Florida and the Southern District of New York.
Additionally, it suggests that he be placed under the supervision of the U.S. Pretrial Services Agency and surrender his passport.
Diddy has expressed willingness to accept additional bail conditions if required, including home confinement, mental health and substance abuse treatment, electronic monitoring, and private security.
The judge has yet to make a decision, but prosecutors have previously opposed Diddy’s release before sentencing.
