Diddy receives enthusiastic welcome on return to prison after court ruling

Diddy received an enthusiastic welcome and a standing ovation from inmates when he returned to prison after a jury acquitted him of three out of five federal charges, with his lawyer Marc Agnifilo stating that the cell block applauded him.

Agnifilo spoke to the Associated Press over the weekend, revealing that Diddy was treated like a hero upon his return to the federal prison where he is being held.

According to Agnifilo, the inmates expressed their admiration, saying that “we never get to see anyone who beats the government,” celebrating Diddy’s victory in his case.

“As you may know, Diddy was acquitted of charges related to sex trafficking and racketeering, but he was not completely exonerated.

“He was found guilty on two counts under the Mann Act, and prosecutors sent a letter to the judge on Wednesday indicating that sentencing guidelines call for at least four years in prison.”

The former mogul has already spent about 10 months in prison since his arrest in September 2024.

He attempted to secure bail after the verdict, while awaiting sentencing, but Judge Arun Subramanian denied the request, stating that Diddy and his legal team failed to demonstrate that he is not a danger to the community.

Agnifilo also shared with the AP his belief that Diddy was likely to be acquitted of the sex trafficking charges before the verdict was announced, reasoning that if the jury had doubts about the racketeering charges, it suggested they probably did not find him guilty of trafficking, as the two charges were interconnected.
