Yobe consoles victims of insurgents attack on Gujba Town
Yobe State has consoled victims of a suspected insurgent attack on Gujba Town, in Gujba Local Government Area of the state.

The attack, which occurred in the early hours of March 8, 2025, left several homes and businesses in ruins.

Following the incident, the Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), conducted an assessment, which showed that 14 households, comprising of 57 individuals were affected.

The attack resulted in the destruction of 12 blocks of rooms, and eight shops, many of which belonged to business owners and members of local vigilante groups.

A 32-year-old vigilante, was killed during the attack, leaving behind two wives and seven children.

During a visit to the affected community, the Executive Secretary of SEMA, Dr. Mohammed Goje, conveyed Governor Mai Mala Buni’s condolences, and assured victims of the state government’s commitment to provide them with relief materials.

He also emphasized plans to strengthen security measures, to safeguard lives and property in the area.

Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant, while security agencies continue efforts to restore peace in the region.
